Our Story
It All Started With Tata Maria
Tata Maria is our grandmother. She was born in 1926. She is Mexican-American, and she has cooked for our family her whole life.
Her recipes are the reason our family went into food. They started our restaurant, Tata's Tacos, and our catering business. Both carry her name. So does Maria's Meal Prep.
Here is why you can trust us:
100 years of history
In 2026, our family celebrated Tata Maria's 100th birthday. Her kids and grandkids grew up eating her cooking.
Her recipes, on our menu
Every meal on our menu comes from Tata Maria's recipes. Her recipes have been in our family for generations.

We were extremely satisfied with our meals this week! This was our second time trying a meal service, but our first experience with Maria's Meals—and what a difference! The other company completely disappointed us (that’s another story), but Maria's Meals really impressed both me and my wife.
She’s a great cook and quite picky about other people’s food, yet she loved every dish. The meals were fresh, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be ordering again and again.
Highly recommend Maria's Meal Prep to friends and anyone looking for tasty, high-quality meals!
This is hands down the BEST meal prep service we have used in Chicago. My fiancé and I are very busy with work, planning a wedding and traveling, so we don’t have enough time to cook during the week. We were utilizing another meal prep service, however, their the food did not always taste fresh. We are absolutely in love with Maria's Meals! Every single meal I has been delicious and fresh!
I have been using this service for a little over a month now and the service is great! My meals consistently arrive on time, they respond to my emails and questions and the food is always seasoned well and fresh! Do yourself a favor and order it now!!
Food is well cooked, well-portioned, and well-seasoned. I hate cooking, but I also hated eating out every day, so this company was honestly a godsend. I feel healthier and stay fuller a lot longer with these meals.
This food is truly amazing. It allows me to give my family quality home cooked meals without losing valuable time slaving in the kitchen. Thank you for making me super mom!!
We've tried a bunch of the big meal services and this has been way better. We actually look forward to eating dinner. The ingredients feel fresh and there isn't too much sodium. We recommend it!
This meal plan has completely simplified my weekdays. I used to skip lunch or grab something unhealthy, but now I’ve got chef-prepared meals that are filling, flavorful, and under 500 calories. It’s exactly what I needed to stay consistent with my diet.
These meals are really really good! Fresh food and perfectly prepared. I used to use another service and I would have to add my own seasoning to make it taste good but not with this one! 10/10
The food was prepared and presented very neatly. This was my first interaction with you all, and I can say the ads match my actual experience. Delivery was timely and seamless. The food also tasted great and served as a great option to ensure my senior parents were well fed while I was out of town for work. I will definitely order again.
You are the first meal delivery service that gives you enough food. The food is fresh, very flavorful, and has lots of vegetables, just what my wife likes. My wife likes all the choices you offer. Your service has answered our question of whats for dinner. Your prices are very fair for what you receive. Thank you so much.
I was looking for a meal service that wasn’t just quick but also healthy. This one nails it — big portions, bold flavor, and low-calorie. Perfect for staying fit while in school.
I’ve tried meal preps before, but nothing compares to these. You can really tell the difference in quality — fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and portions that actually keep me full. It’s perfect for someone like me who works long hours and still wants to eat right.
I have been ordering from the Maria's Meals for a few weeks. The deliveries are timely and the food is fresh and delicious. I am so glad I found this service!
My father is an elderly man that lives alone and I wanted to do something other than frozen meals. We tried some last week and he had raved about them. It a home cooked meal when I do not feel like cooking. Great experience
I was previously using a well known meal prep service but started to have issues with delivery. I searched for a local meal prep service and found Maria's Meals. The food is soooo good and looks just like the pictures online-seasoned to perfection and fresh! Just placed my second order.
Maria's Meals is ALWAYS delish.

Maria's Meals is amazing. They catered my family’s cabin retreat and everything was top tier!! They prepared 4 dinners and 4 morning breakfasts for my family of 7. They were flexible with our schedules, punctual, the food was stellar and they cleaned up everything at the end of the night!! They felt like an addition to our family by the end of our trip. I will definitely book Maria's Meals again in the near future.
Everything we ordered was very very good. All of the meals are seasoned very well and I love the variety that they offer. The food is so good it almost makes it hard to believe they're under 500 calories. They have a returning customer for life.
I purchased the meals for my mother. Everything arrived on time and package well. She loved the taste and the portion in ech meal. We will order again.
The food arrived well-packaged and tasted great — not too salty or bland. I love the variety of dishes, and the portions are generous for the price. It’s also very affordable. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again. It’s super convenient for my lifestyle, especially since I have a mentally demanding job and often don’t have the energy to cook after work. The meals are low in calories and healthy. My favorite so far is the teriyaki chicken — absolutely delicious. Keep up the great work!
Delicious home cooked meals! Easy to warm up and eat! I don't like cooking and this service helps me stay on track with eating healthy and saving time!
The meals arrived as scheduled and my hubby and I feasted for about 6 days sharing one meal as the potions were large! Due to this being my first time ordering I ordered the chicken and salmon meals. They were tasty and well seasoned. The chipotle salmon and the teriyaki chicken were our favorite. The price was right and it took the pressure off of me to cook. Loved the variety it offered!
Perfect portions! Very flavorful! Will definitely be ordering every week that I have to work moving forward. I saved tons of money not ordering DoorDash and Uber eats this week. And did not even feel groggy after lunch. I hope the menu changes every week so I won’t get bored.
Second time ordering and the food was just as delicious as the first time. The portions are generous and perfect if you’re on the go, or just looking for healthy meals.
Maria's Meals is wonderful! Not only was the food delicious it was beautiful! Maria created a lovely chefs table for my daughter’s engagement party. Everybody was raving. I can’t thank her enough for helping to create an amazing evening for our guest!
